The 13th China Model United Nations Conference Held in Zhengzhou

 

The 13th China Model United Nations Conference(CNMUN) was held in the PLA Information Engineering University(PLAIEU), Zhengzhou, He’nan Province from 28 to 30 October 2016. A record number of over 571 delegates from 119 universities participated in the conference. Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, sent a letter of congratulation to the conference. Ambassador Lu Shumin, President of the UNA-China, Major General Guo Yunfei, President of the PLAIEU, addressed the opening ceremony.

 

 

 

The conference was held with the theme of Youth, Peace and Security, covering six topics, namely Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, DPRK Nuclear Issue and the Peace Maintaining on the Korean PeninsularTerrorism and RefugeesCombating International Drug CrimesInternational Cooperation Against Cyber Crime, and Further Discussions on the Reduction of Weapons of Mass Destruction. The Conference also set up News Center, encouraging participants to work as journalists from leading news agencies and report on the conference.

 

 

 

 

 

After three days of in-depth discussion, the conference named nearly 70 awards including Best Delegates, Outstanding Delegates, Honorable Mention, Best Position Paper were presented to individual participants and delegations.
