On October 12, Ms. Hu Wenli, Vice-President and Director-General of the United Nations Association of China, attended the 2025 Peking University Forum on International Organizations and Global Governance, themed “The United Nations and Global Governance — Towards a More Just and Equitable Global Governance System". She delivered a keynote speech on the United Nations and global governance.

In her speech, Ms. Hu Wenli emphasized that global governance faces deficits in peace, development, security, and governance, and that the international community urgently needs more effective governance concepts and systems. President Xi Jinping has proposed Global Governance Initiative (GGI), contributing China’s wisdom to address the challenges in global governance. The GGI is consistent with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, aligned with the goals of the UN Pact for the Future and in accord with the direction of the UN80 initiative. The GGI is aimed to uphold multilateralism, strengthen the authority of the United Nations, enhance UN effectiveness, and improve the global governance system. It is hoped that all parties will actively implement the GGI and work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
