Vice-President and Director-General Hu Wenli Attended the 238th Executive Committee Meeting of WFUNA

On September 17-18, the 238th Executive Committee (ExCo) Meeting of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) was held in New York. The meeting reviewed and adopted the minutes of the 237th ExCo Meeting, Secretary-General’s report on activities, finance and membership, discussed the work plan of the WFUNA and the reform of the United Nations, among other issues. WFUNA Secretary-General, Vice President and Treasurer and the ExCo members from the United States, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia and Georgia attended the meeting. Ms. Hu Wenli, Vice-President and Director-General of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), attended the meeting and introduced UNA-China’s recent work. She stated that China firmly supports strengthening the role of the United Nations through reform and advancing global governance. Recently, China proposed the Global Governance Initiative, which marks another major public good China has contributed to the world following its three major global initiatives. The initiative aims to bring stability and certainty to a turbulent world, advocating unity over division and cooperation over confrontation.
