The 5th National United Nations Knowledge Contest for College Students Held in Beijing
On November 9, 2024, the 5th National United Nations Knowledge Contest for College Students, co-hosted by the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) and Beijing International Studies University (BISU), was held in Beijing. Ms. Wang Ying, Deputy Director-General of UNA-China, and Mr. Zheng Chengjun, Vice President of BISU, addressed the Opening Ceremony.
Ms. Wang Ying stressed that the UN Knowledge Contest provides a platform for young students to learn about the UN. Young people should pay attention to national and international affairs, understand China’s foreign policies, enhance their global competency and comprehensive quality, and lay a foundation for engagement in global affairs. Mr. Zheng Chengjun encouraged the youth to broaden the depth and breadth of their understanding and study of the UN, strive to become high-quality talents with international perspectives.
More than 40 contestants from 15 universities and colleges across the country participated in the event. China Foreign Affairs University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Qingdao University, University of International Relations (UIR), BISU, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Beijing Language and Culture University, Guangzhou Huashang College reach the final round and won an award. Yao Yuan from UIBE, Lin Zheyuan from UIR, and Yin Peixin from BISU won the Best Style Award.
