Vice-President and Director-General Ms. HU Wenli Headed a Delegation to the 2024 United Nations Civil Society Conference
From May 9 to 10, the 2024 United Nations Civil Society Conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya, with the theme “Shaping a Future of Global and Sustainable Progress”. Ms. HU Wenli, Vice-President and Director-General of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) headed a delegation to attend the event. More than 4000 delegates from different sectors, including global civil society organizations, governments, the United Nations and other international organizations, and the media, registered for participating in the Conference.
UNA-China delegation participated in the entire Conference and exchanged points of view on global governance, sustainable development and financing for development, international peace and security, artificial intelligence, and youth. Ms. HU Wenli emphasized that civil society, as an important actor in global governance, should play its own unique role, promoting the international community to practice true multilateralism and strengthen solidarity and cooperation. Countries should adopt the Pact for the Future with a broad international consensus, work for a more just and equitable global governance system, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
